About

A company in Ecuador, building one thing

Ofivia is a product, not a catalog. We work on it daily and we use it for our own knowledge, which is the only way to notice quickly when something gets in the way.

Why it exists

The shared folder

Before this we spent years going in and out of mid-sized companies, and the same folder was always there. Forty versions of the same proposal, none of them marked as the good one. The month-end close procedure that only the person who resigned in March understood. The signed contract that lived in a WhatsApp thread because that is where it was sent.

None of that is a software problem. It is what happens when a company's knowledge has no owner, no order, and no way of being asked a question. And when useful AI arrived, almost everyone's reaction was to bolt a chat on top of that mess and hope it would guess. The answers were exactly as good as the folder.

Ofivia starts from the other end.

First the knowledge organized by department, with permissions that look like the real org chart, in text files any editor would open. Then the agent on top, with the same reach a colleague in that area would have. If you decide to leave tomorrow, you take the folder and lose nothing. That last part is not generosity, it is the consequence of having chosen well where to keep things.

How we work

Four decisions we do not negotiate

The disk is in charge

The source of truth is Markdown files in a folder that belongs to you. The search index and the graph are rebuilt from there. It is an architecture decision, and it is also the reason leaving Ofivia is copying a folder.

We say what is not there yet

The security page has a whole section about what we do not have. The pricing page says the credit is applied by a person and not by an automated job. It costs us sales and it saves us a worse kind of conversation.

First we talk, then there is an account

There is no automatic signup. You leave your details, verify your email, and somebody here creates the company and writes back. In a tool that is going to hold your organization’s knowledge, skipping that conversation seemed like a bad idea.

Working Spanish, then English

The product is thought out in the Spanish of Ecuador and the region rather than translated afterwards. This English site is a real translation, not a machine mirror, and support answers in your working hours.

The facts, unpadded

Where
Ecuador. The product is built for companies in the region.
Since
2026. Before that, the same problem seen from inside other companies.
Who
A small team. We are not going to put up photos of people who do not work here, or an employee count to look bigger. When you write, somebody who builds the product answers.
